Kingman has more than $250 million in construction projects planned over the next several years...
Interstate 11Phoenix and Las Vegas are the largest US cities without a major interstate connecting them. The nearly 300-mile Interstate 11 project includes expansion of US Highway 93 and new construction. More than half of the project between Kingman and Phoenix has already been completed at a cost of more than $250 million. The latest phase includes a $12.5 million widening of Highway 93 north of Wickenburg that began construction in 2014 and is scheduled for completion in 2016. A $283 million bypass project around Boulder City, Nevada commenced construction in 2015 and will be part of Interstate 11.
UniSource Solar PlantThe company is planning to break ground in 2016 on a $45 million solar plant. The construction project will install solar panels on two separate tracts of land off Route 66 near the airport. The 215 acre development will provide about 30 megawatts of power when completed.
Brunswick HotelThe 34-room hotel, originally built in 1909, is undergoing a complete renovation. Some of the building has already been renovated while the remainder (including a bar in the hotel lobby) is planned for completion by 2017.
MCC ExpansionA $4 million building is being planned to break ground in 2016 at the college system's campus in Kingman. The new building will provide more classroom and office space.
Rancho Santa FeAn estimated $49 million interchange will create a new exit from Interstate 40 near mile marker #57. A new major thoroughfare would also be constructed linking the interchange to the Kingman Airport. An additional $20 million in expansions are planned for Airway, Eastern, and Airfield Avenues.
Ramada & Canyon 66
Ramada opened in 2015 as the only full-service hotel in Kingman. The resort-style property includes 120 guest rooms & suites, the Cayon 66 Restaurant & Lounge, outdoor pool & courtyard, 24-hour gym, pet park, business center, conference rooms, and on-site laundry facilities. The property is still undergoing expansion with plans including a gift shop, children's playground, and tennis courts.

KINGMAN CROSSINGAn estimated $40 million interchange will create a new exit from Interstate 40 at mile marker #55 near the KRMC Hualapai Mountain Campus. The city owns 170 acres at the site which is planned to be sold to a private developer. The project will create a major commercial region in an under-developed area of Kingman.
LA QUINTA INN & SUITESThe 94-room hotel will open near Stockton Hill Road in late 2015. The $5 million construction project is taking place on a 2.34 acre tract with plans for a second hotel to be constructed next year on an adjacent 1.3 acre tract.
MOHAVE COUNTY COURTHOUSEThe $25 million project was approved in 2015 to expand and renovate the existing building. A new 4-story addition will increase the size of the facility to 89,000 square feet. The new addition is currently being designed and the project should break ground in 2016.
"Splash" ParkThe $250,000 "splash" park will be open free of charge and feature various water-related features on a 3,000 square foot site. The project is being developed by the Venture Club of Kingman and is expected to break ground in 2016.
Exotic Animal SanctuaryWild Planet Animal Park is a development encompassing 2,200 acres. The wildlife sanctuary, planned to open in 2019, will house a variety of rescued animals including lions, tigers, giraffes, and primates in a safari enviroment with tours avaiable.
"Welcome" Arch
The city council is planning to construct a monumental "welcome" sign in the form of an arch over Beale Street in downtown Kingman. The project is still in the design phase and is expected to be completed in 2016. The project will help enhance the growing downtown area's image while providing an iconic photo opportunity for visitors.
